In the middle of the Vondelpark you can find a well hidden gem: the open air theatre. Since the summer of 1974 this theatre has made sure that you always have somewhere to go in the weekends. Every summer on Friday until Sunday you can enjoy the best of music, dance, stand-up comedy and theatre here. And it is all for free! Have a picnic in the grass or visit the special open air restaurant that gives a first class view on the stage.

Bargain Busters
Vondelpark open air theatre fits perfectly into the Bargain Busters profile. During the summer months you can pick and choose out of a wide array of free shows and concerts in the relaxed atmosphere of the Vondelpark. And bringing your own drinks and food is allowed.
The open air theatre is open only during summer months:

Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: Closed
Friday: 19.30 – 11.00
Saturday: 13.00 – 23.30
Sunday: 12.00 – 19.00
You can enjoy the performances in the Vondelpark open air theatre free of charge. But due to ever diminishing government funding, they could use your donation of one euro or a few more in the VondelparkEuroBus, that goes around the public during breaks.
You can also use the success-service; book your own seat for a performance or concert for just € 2,5.
