Hortus Botanicus

Always wanted to walk through the African desert, the tropical jungle or a South-African forest? And all in one day? The Three Climate Greenhouse in the Hortus Botanicus makes it possible. The Hortus was founded in 1638 and that makes it one of the oldest botanical gardens of the world. Don’t forget to also visit the butterfly greenhouse and the palm-house with a 300-year-old giant cycad, a specialty of the Hortus. In summertime the outside garden is full of flowers and you can enjoy the beautiful terrace of the Orangery.
