Rolling Kitchens

Every year around Ascension Day, the Amsterdam Westergasterrein transforms into one giant outdoor kitchen. They open up the gates of the park and roll in the mobile kitchens coming from all over the Netherlands. And when the kitchens are in, then come the people. Rollende Keukens, or Rolling Kitchens, is for everyone who loves food: young and old.

Pizzas and lobster

The mobile kitchens offer everything from freshly squeezed juices to luxurious lobster or the best in vegan food. Everything is made on the spot and always fresh and tasty. Enjoy a pizza from the mobile wood oven and have some organic chocolate cake for dessert. Don’t forget to taste some of the locally made limoncello or 2013’s hit: rabarcello. That’s limoncello made from rhubarb!

Free entrance

Entrance to the Rolling Kitchen’s site is free and you don’t have to have a big wallet to be able to enjoy the food. There is something to eat for every budget. Of course food is best digested while listening to some easy tunes. So, besides all the food there are always bands playing at Rolling Kitchens, there are pop up art exhibitions and theatre performances, as well as a fun fair for smaller children.
