Until late in the sixties gas was produced at the Westergasfabriek (Westergas factory), name giver to the Westergasterrein. Today this site houses the best cultural park of the whole of Amsterdam. Summer or winter, there is always something happening here. Visit one of the culinary festivals like Rolling Kitchens or listen to your favourite international bands performing in the open air. Educate yourself on Dutch cinema at Het Ketelhuis, enjoy some live jazz at the North Sea Jazz Club or dance to one of the garage rock bands performing at Pacific Parc.
