Negen Straatjes – Nine Streets

The Negen Straatjes (in English translated as the Nine Streets) is the ultimate shopping area if you like independent boutiques, designer shops, specialty stores and beautiful undiscovered second-hand clothing. These small and cozy streets between the Raadhuisstraat and the Leidsestraat (Reestraat, Hartenstraat, Gasthuismolensteeg, Berenstraat, Runstraat, Wolvenstraat, Oude Spiegelstraat, Huidenstraat and the Wijde Heisteeg) are all little side streets of the Canal Belt. The canals are always buzzing, where the Negen Straatjes ooze a peaceful intimate atmosphere and old-fashioned customer friendliness. Tired of all the shopping? You can admire your purchases at one of the many cozy lunchrooms and hip restaurants in the area, like Brix.

Shopalicious

The Nine Streets fit perfectly into the Shopalicious profile. The décor of the streets is beautiful. In the small cozy streets you walk on old-fashioned cobblestones between authentic Canal buildings. The offer is diverse and certainly not mainstream. This does raise prices a bit, but returning home with a precious one of a kind item will certainly make this worth your while.
