The flower market floats right on the Singelgracht (Singel Canal). Of course it’s nothing like the Keukenhof, but here you’ll also find numerous flowers, plants and flower bulbs, to plant in your own garden or balcony. The lovely smells of all this green entices you from one end of this street and the fresh cheeses from the cheese shops on the other side of the street smell as least as appealing. And if that’s not enough choice of souvenirs to bring home from Amsterdam, they sell plenty of clogs and windmills here too.

Floating market
You may not notice it when you visiting the flower market, but the florists are actually small greenhouses located on floating pontoons. These are a relic from the past when the flowers and plants sold here were shipped in from garden areas located around Amsterdam. And if you are wondering how this all looks from above, go and have a drink at Blue in the Kalvertoren and enjoy the view from the top.
