The main hall of Concertgebouw Amsterdam is worldwide renowned for its amazing acoustics, ever since it opened in 1888. It comes as no surprise then that concerts given in this beautiful hall are often sold out months in advance.

Free concerts
But, there is a way to enjoy some soothing classical music without having to fight for a ticket. Every Wednesday between 12 and 13 o’clock you can visit a free lunch concert. Some days you get to witness a public rehearsal of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Other days young talent takes the stage. Oh and don’t forget to have a look at the impressive organ in the main hall of Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Come early to be sure of a seat.

Ticket prices vary and depend on the kind of performance you visit. In most cases your ticket allows you free travel with the public transport of Amsterdam during 3 hours before and 4 hours after the performance.
In addition, a drink before the performance starts and a drink during the break is included in the ticket price.
