Did you know that all the beautiful canal houses often have even more beautiful back gardens? During the Open Garden Days you can go and see for yourself. If you buy a passe-partout ticket it will give you entrance to over thirty canal gardens during a period of three days. Special Garden routes are set out that are easily done by foot. Classical and contemporary gardens
Some gardens have a very classical feel to them, other are more modern. Don’t be surprised to find very special and rare plants or very old trees. Due to very strict Amsterdam laws, a lot of gardens have never really been changed. The Open Garden Days therefore give you a peek into four centuries of garden history in Amsterdam.
Useful information
Tickets including a detailed description of the route are sold at the starting point at Museum van Loon. The passe-partout grants you access to all the participating gardens and is valid for three days. Due to a lot of differences in height in the gardens and the many stairs to bridge those heights, the Open Garden Days are not accessible for people in a wheelchair.
