Olympic Experience

In 1928 the Olympic Summer Games were held in Amsterdam. For this, the Olympic Stadium was build and on May 17th 1928 the stadium hosted its first official event: the opening of the Olympic hockey tournament. Since 1928, the stadium has been the number one location for sports related events in Amsterdam. For instance, the national soccer team of the Netherlands has played over 77 games in the stadium. If you would like to learn more about the history of the Olympic Stadium Amsterdam and of sports in Amsterdam, a visit to the Olympic Experience is highly recommended.

Olympic museum

The Olympic Experience is an interactive sports museum with a large collection of photos and videos and of course objects that tell us everything there is to know about sports in the Netherlands and the history of the Olympic Games in general. The museum is set up for both children and adults to enjoy. The younger ones can test their knowledge of sports in the Junior Sports Quiz or feel what it is like to be an professional ice skater on one of the simulators. Adults can travel back in time and watch the videos of memorable moments in the history of sport.
